EDINBURGH

Before arriving in the country's capital on day 5, we took in the historic sights that St. Andrew's has to offer. Standing next to the ruins of the cathedral, overlooking the vast sea with wind practically blowing us away, served as a reminder of the expansive history that lay at our feet.

Arriving to the last stop of our tour was bittersweet yet exciting- there was still so much history to learn and sights to see! A guided walking tour gave us an introduction to the city and its important place in history. The imposing Edinburgh Castle, charming Palace of Holyroodhouse, and stately Royal Yacht of Britannia allowed us to imagine life as a royal.

Exploring the Royal Mile, Victoria Street, and "closes" of the city almost felt like a treasure hunt- what history
would we stumble upon next? (Tip: playing "spot the unicorn" brought a smile to our face with each new find.) We enjoyed the freedom to explore at our own pace, see artifacts at the National Museum of Scotland, and walk
through Greyfriar's Cemetery. A can't miss for us was indulging in afternoon cream tea, which we enjoyed at Deacon's House Cafe.
